Effective High School Mathematics & English Tuition

The Effective Teaching and Learning Centre (ETLC) has been helping students reach their academic peak since 1991. Through our teaching of mathematics, students not only learn how to understand mathematical concepts, but also to develop problem solving skills and general study skills which have a positive impact on their lives, even after they leave school. Our Essay Writing Courses focus on learning how to analyse texts and respond to them by communicating ideas effectively in written format. One-to-One Coaching Also Available

Why choose ETLC For Tuition?

Individuality - ETLC is located at Eastwood. This is the only location where students can attend our courses. We have a limited number of students, so each individual is nurtured and supported according to his or her needs.

History - Our Centre has a long history of excellent results in the N.S.W. Higher School Certificate. Some of our students have achieved a UAI of 100, others have achieved an ATAR of 99.95 which ranks them at the very top of the State.

Growth - ETLC has grown from one class of HSC Mathematics in 1991, to its current size of more than 15 mathematics classes ranging from Year Seven, to Extension II in Year Twelve. Our English Courses are also very popular. These are now conducted in school holidays. Because of the popularity of the senior holiday essay writing courses, we are now offering essay writing courses in the holidays for students in Years 7 to 10.

Satisfaction - Parents and students are delighted with the difference our excellent teaching methods have made to the student's ability, understanding, confidence and performance.

Quality - As we rarely advertise, our growth has come through recommendations. This reflects the quality of our teaching.

Style of Teaching - We have a traditional approach to educating our students; nothing can replace a real teacher with extensive knowledge! Our classroom discipline ensures an effective learning environment. Excellent teaching and continual testing facilitate students’ learning.

Location - ETLC is within 50 metres of the railway station at Eastwood and is opposite the police station, so it is safe for parents and children - even at night!

Mathematics and Essay Writing

We run Mathematics classes during school weeks, and holiday courses for both Mathematics and English (essay writing).

Individual help is available to those students who are enrolled in our weekly mathematics classes, at no extra cost (conditions apply).

There are some teachers available for one to one coaching in mathematics and essay writing for students who would prefer this help (charged at an hourly rate).
